While planning their wedding, Katherine was originally inspired by colorful motifs she saw while living abroad. She worked with Courtney Callahan Paper to design six cultural prints that were used throughout the ceremony and reception decor. “Although my inspiration came from travels outside of the United States, the navy blue, turquoise and red color scheme also seemed very much like home,” says Katherine. “It felt like a sophisticated New England clam bake!”
Blue and red ribbons hung across the outdoor arbor along with DIY string balls created by art students from TaskRabbit (hired by Katherine to help achieve the whimsical look). Avant Gardenia created an all-white rose and peony bouquet for Katherine while complementing the bright color scheme with pops of red in the bridesmaid bouquets. Long farm tables filled the white-tented reception and places were set with mixed vintage dishes, adding to the relaxed elegance of the evening.
