We Love This Bride's Dramatic Gown — See It Here!

Katrina worked at a Guest Coordinator at Vera Wang before relocating to Shanghai, China, so it’s no surprise her wedding look was ultra-glamorous. She wore a Vera Wang mermaid gown with a plunging back and dramatic tulle and organza skirt for her ceremony at the iconic Union Station in Chicago. To complement her dress, Katrina opted for opulent accessories like a crystal-embellished headpiece, statement earrings and black mesh Gucci heels (not shown). We think she nailed her high fashion, over-the-top look!

Her Dramatic Dress 
Katrina originally planned to wear a dress off the rack, but fell in love with her Vera Wang gown as soon as she tried it on at a trunk show. “It was different than any dress I had tried on before, and had so many interesting details,” she says.
Why She Chose White
Though she was tempted to pick the black version of her gown, Katrina eventually gave in to tradition and went with classic ivory when she realized all of her wedding guests would be dressed in black. “I did not want to be another guest attending the party—I wanted to be the bride!” she says.
Her One-Of-A-Kind Headpiece 
Katrina chose not to wear a veil because she didn’t want to take any attention away from her gown (and we don’t blame her!). Her gorgeous headpiece was also inspired by Vera Wang—only in a less conventional way. “My good friend was altering one of her Vera Wang dresses, and had to take some of jewel detailing off in the process,” Katrina says. “She secured the gunmetal-colored jewels together and made me a stunning headband. It was my ‘something borrowed,’ and dressed everything up.”
