And while neither of them really remember being in the wedding (since they were three-year-olds, after all), flash forward to ninth-grade government class at Blaine High School, near Minneapolis, in 2007. When Brittney heard Brigg’s unique name called in class, she knew it couldn’t have been anyone else, and asked her mother about it.
“We were in class and she had a picture with her from the wedding,” Briggs told ABC News. “I started to laugh because it was the same one we had hanging in the hallway at home, but I never knew who she was. That wedding was the only time I ever saw her.”
Two years later, they started dating, with Briggs knowing that he wanted to marry Brittney one day. Now they’re finishing up college at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and got married on January 10 in front of 310 family members and friends at A’BULAE in St. Paul.
“Everybody loves it — especially my godmother, she takes all the credit,” Briggs said. “It’s constantly brought up that we walked down the aisle together again. We never expected having all this popularity, but we’re enjoying it. We will definitely print out the articles and keep them around. I’ll show them to my kids.”
“I’m pretty cheesy when it comes to love stuff, I’m not going to lie,” Brittney told CNN. “It’s all a part of God’s plan. All fate for sure.”
